  2. Install ENERGY STAR qualified light bulbs<\/strong> and light fixtures where appropriate throughout the restaurant. A typical restaurant has the lights on for 16 to 20 hours a day. CFLs or LEDs can reduce energy consumption and heat output by 75% and last 10-50 times longer than incandescent lighting!<\/li>\n
  3. Choose the proper sized HVAC unit<\/strong> for your space. According to the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE), at least 25 percent of all rooftop heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) units<\/a> are oversized, resulting in increased energy costs and equipment wear.
